What models can this be installed on?
A:
BMW 328 and M3 (1996-1999) and 2.8l and 3.2l Z3s with the S/M52 motor (1997-2000) It's also possible it will work on the M52 powered 323i and Z2.3, but I have not done this install so I cannot confirm this.
Q:
Why do you need a custom made throttle body seal?
A:
Because when you mate the M50 manifold with the S/M52 throttle body you have an extra seal gland to fill.
Q:
Will a large amount of upper end horsepower be gained?
A:
Yes. 15-30 RWHP.
Q:
Will a small amount of low end torque be lost?
A:
Yes, but you probably won't even notice it.
Q:
Is this modification emissions legal?
A:
No. But it will pass the dyno emissions test assuming the rest of the emissions system is in good working order.
Q:
Can you use heater hose to make this adapter?
A:
No, if you don't you use fuel or oil rated hose the adapter will break down over time, collapse under vacuum, and cease to function.
